Frequently Asked Questions

What does Atrium Music do?

Atrium Music is a boutique sync licensing agency and music publishing company specializing in  placing music on television, film, advertising, and branded content. We deliver high-quality, pre cleared, one-stop music with speed, integrity, and a human touch.

Is all of Atrium’s music pre-cleared?

Yes. We’re a one-stop library so every track is fully cleared prior to pitching or licensing,  allowing us to execute licenses at lightning speed.

Do you work with tight deadlines?

Absolutely. Fast turnarounds are one of Atrium’s core strengths. We regularly pitch, license, and  finalize music within hours when projects demand it.

Does Atrium accept AI-generated music?

No. Atrium represents human-created music only. Our clients come to us for authentic,  emotionally driven work created by real artists, composers, and producers.

What types of projects do you work on?

We work across television, film, streaming, advertising, branded content, and emerging media— anywhere music and storytelling intersect.

What does a music supervisor do?

A music supervisor oversees the creative and logistical use of music in a project. This includes  song selection, creative direction, budgeting, licensing, and ensuring that all music is fully  cleared and production-ready.

When should music supervision be brought into a project?

As early as possible. Early involvement allows music to be shaped alongside the edit, saving  time, budget, and creative friction later in post-production.

Does Atrium only use its own catalog?

No. While we represent a deep roster of artists, our priority is always the project. If the right song  lives outside our catalog, we’ll source, negotiate, and clear it on your behalf.

How does Atrium handle music budgets?

We work transparently within your budget, offering creative options at multiple price points and  helping you maximize impact without overspending.

What types of projects does Atrium supervise?

Television series, feature films, documentaries, commercials, branded content, and emerging  media. Whether it’s a full season or a single scene, our approach scales to your needs.

What makes Atrium’s supervision different?

Atrium blends editorial insight, music expertise, and artist advocacy. We understand the creative  side, the business side, and the human side—and we bring all three into every project.

What is a custom composition?

A custom composition is original music written specifically for your project. Unlike catalog  tracks, it’s created from scratch to match your exact tone, timing, and emotional goals.

How is custom music different from licensing existing tracks?

Licensed tracks already exist and are selected to fit a scene, while custom compositions are built  around your visuals. Custom music allows for complete creative control, precise timing, and a  sound that feels inseparable from the picture.

How long does the custom composition process take?

Timelines vary depending on scope, but most projects move from brief to final delivery within  days or weeks. Atrium is experienced working under tight production schedules without  sacrificing quality.

Can I request revisions or changes?

Yes. Collaboration is built into our process. We welcome thoughtful feedback and handle  revisions efficiently to ensure the final music aligns with your vision.

Are custom compositions fully cleared for use?

Yes. All custom compositions delivered by Atrium are fully cleared and ready for use. Licensing  terms are established upfront so there are no surprises later in the production or distribution  process.

What deliverables are included?

You’ll receive broadcast-ready masters along with stems and alternate versions, as needed. This  ensures flexibility for edits, trailers, cut-downs, and future uses.

What does music clearance actually include?

Music clearance involves confirming ownership, securing the appropriate licenses, and ensuring  all rights are properly granted for your intended use. Atrium handles this process end-to-end so  your project is legally protected before release or broadcast.

When should music be cleared?

Ideally, music should be cleared as soon as it’s selected or locked for picture. Clearing early  prevents last-minute issues, delays, or costly replacements down the line.

What is a cue sheet and why does it matter?

A cue sheet documents how music is used in a production and ensures royalties are paid correctly  to artists and rights holders. Accurate cue sheets protect both productions and creators by  keeping royalty reporting clean and reliable.

Does Atrium handle cue sheet creation and submission?

Yes. Atrium prepares, reviews, and submits cue sheets with complete accuracy, making sure all  writers, publishers, timings, and usages are correctly documented and delivered to the proper  parties.

Can Atrium clear music that isn’t from your catalog?

Yes. We can handle clearance for third-party music, provided rights information is available. Our  team manages negotiations and documentation to ensure compliance regardless of source.

What happens if there’s an error or change after delivery?

Production changes happen. Atrium monitors revisions, updates documentation when needed,  and resolves issues quickly to prevent future royalty or legal complications.

How are artists selected to be an Atrium Featured artist?

Our artists are hand-selected based on the quality of their work, consistency of placements, and  alignment with Atrium’s creative standards. These artists represent the depth, diversity, and  emotional range of our catalog.

Are Atrium artists exclusive to Atrium Music?

No. We encourage our artists to pursue other opportunities beyond Atrium, as long as they don’t  conflict with our terms.

What kinds of placements do Atrium artists receive?

Atrium artists have music placed across television, film, streaming series, and branded content.  Placements range from major network shows to global streaming hits and high-profile campaigns  and films.

Can I submit music to become an Atrium artist?

Yes. All Atrium artists began by submitting music through our submission process. If your music  aligns with our standards and creative vision, our team will reach out to discuss next steps.

Does being signed with Atrium guarantee placements?

No placement is ever guaranteed. Sync is competitive by nature, but our artists benefit from  active pitching, trusted industry relationships, and thoughtful advocacy from our team.

Do Atrium artists keep ownership of their music?

Always. Atrium never takes ownership of an artist’s copyrights. Artists retain 100% ownership of  their music while Atrium handles administration and licensing for approved tracks.

Is all of Atrium’s music pre-cleared?

Yes. Every track in our catalog is fully pre-cleared, allowing for one-stop licensing with no rights  confusion. This ensures fast approvals, clean paperwork, and fewer headaches during production.

What types of projects does Atrium license music for?

We license music for television, film, advertising, branded content, video games, and emerging  media. From global streaming series to indie films, we tailor our approach to the needs of each  project.

How fast can you deliver music for a project?

Speed is one of our strengths. In many cases, we can deliver high-quality music options within  hours, even under tight deadlines, without sacrificing creative quality.

Do you offer blanket licenses or needle drop deals?

Both. Atrium offers both blanket and needle drop licensing options depending on the project’s  needs, usage, and budget. We work closely with clients to find the most efficient and cost effective solution.

Can you work within a specific budget?

Absolutely. We understand that every production has different financial constraints. Once you’ve  found the right track, we work with you to make the license fit your budget.

What makes Atrium different from other music libraries?

Atrium combines artist-first values with white-glove client service. We deliver real, human created music with speed, flexibility, and a deep understanding of storytelling.

How many songs do I need to submit?

We require a minimum of 10 songs per submission. When we sign an artist, we’re building a  long-term partnership, and a deeper catalog allows us to better advocate for your work.

Do you require instrumental versions?

Yes. Most sync placements require instrumentals to support dialogue and sound design. Without  them, a song can’t be pitched for the majority of opportunities.

Can I submit released music?

Yes. Released music is welcome as long as you control the master and publishing and the song  isn’t tied to conflicting administrative agreements. Rights clarity is essential for accurate pitching  and royalty tracking.

Do I keep ownership of my music?

Always. You retain 100% ownership of your copyrights. Atrium only administers and pitches the  specific tracks you submit to us.

Does Atrium allow re-titling?

No. Atrium operates under a strict no re-titling or re-registering policy. This protects your  royalties, prevents cue sheet errors, and ensures your music stays clean and trusted in the system.

Does Atrium accept AI-generated music?

No. Atrium represents human-created music only. Our clients come to us for authentic,  emotionally driven work created by real artists.

What is Admin Junkie?

Admin Junkie is Atrium’s worldwide publishing administration service. We handle registration,  collection, reporting, and royalty management while you retain full ownership of your music.

What types of royalties do you collect?

We collect performance and mechanical royalties worldwide, including handling registrations.  Our goal is to maximize your earnings across all territories and platforms in as many ways as we  can.

Do you administer partial catalogs?

Yes. We can administer full catalogs or specific tracks only, depending on your needs. This  flexibility allows artists and publishers to stay in control.

How are royalties reported and paid?

Royalties are reported and paid quarterly with detailed accounting statements. Transparency and  accuracy are core to how we operate.

What does Admin Junkie cost?

Admin Junkie operates on an industry-standard 15% administration fee on collected royalties.  There may be additional fees for sync licensing due to legal and negotiation costs.

Do I give up ownership under Admin Junkie?

Never. Admin Junkie is strictly an administrative service. You retain full ownership and control  of your music at all times.

Is Atrium exclusive?

No. Atrium operates on a semi-exclusive basis for the tracks we represent. This allows us to fully  advocate for your music while keeping agreements clean and transparent.

Does Atrium distribute music?

Yes. Distribution is offered as an additional service for artists who need it. This is optional and  separate from our core sync representation.

Does Atrium register music with the copyright office?

Does Atrium handle YouTube CID claims?

Yes. Atrium offers an optional service to manage YouTube Content ID claims and ad revenue  collection for our artists.

Where does Atrium pitch music?

Everywhere. From major networks and streaming platforms to advertising, film, and emerging  media, we pitch globally and strategically.

Who is Atrium not a good fit for?

Atrium is not a micro-licensing platform. If you’re looking for mass-market, AI-driven, or  generic production music, we’re likely not the right partner.

Do you work with major networks and streaming platforms?

What types of projects do you typically work on?
